Qal

The qal is the simplest, most basic Hebrew stem. Nearly 70% of verbs are qal. It is translated in the active voice.  See here and here.

The jussive form in the Qal stem is recognizable only for select verbs.  Here the sample verb is גָּלָה (to uncover), where the third letter (ה) has dropped out.
